Description
There are so many laptops in different sizes, this pattern allows you to make your laptop sleeve fit perfectly. Bag and pocket are knitted in the round with custom fit and optional sizing. Instructions include 2 handle styles (to use with or without hardware) and an optional zipper closure. Both the perfect Fit Laptop Sleeve and Powercord Pocket are worked with double-stranded worsted weight yarn and can be worked in stripes or solids. Instructions for striping as seen in the picture are also included.
Skills Required
Requires knowledge of knitting and purling, knitting in the round on circular and double-pointed needles, and 3-needle bind-off.
Materials
Needed
- US 11 / 8mm 24" / 60cm circular needles for Laptop Sleeve
- US 11 / 8mm 16" / 40cm circular needles for Powercord Pocket
- US 11 / 8mmset of double-pointed needles to work I-cord handles
- Sharp sewing needle & like color sewing or nylon beading thread
- Stitch markers
- 1 20" or longer large-toothed zipper (optional)
- Magnetic snap(s) to close powercord pocket(s) (optional)
- For shoulder handles attached with rings: 4 JULSilver "Colors" resin rings in raspberry or your color choice. Available through JULSilver.com. For shoulder strap & briefcase handles: two .75" / 18mm black bolt snaps and two black 5/8" / 15mm d-rings, available from your local hardware store.
- For laptop sleeve: 840 - 1,470 yds of worsted weight, feltable wool
- For powercord pocket: 250 - 270 yds of worsted weight yarn
